TheraMotive Expands to Maine: Bringing Mobile Physical Therapy to America's Oldest State
From NYC to Maine: Why We're Taking Mobile PT Where It's Needed Most
Welcome to the next chapter of TheraMotive’s journey transforming mobile physical therapy delivery, anytime, anywhere. From our roots in New York City to our planned expansion into Maine, we’re growing with purpose. Today, we’re proud to announce our newest investor and partner: the Roux Institute at Northeastern University.
Their investment through the Future of Healthcare Founder Residency is more than capital, it’s a commitment to our shared mission of making on-demand healthcare accessible to everyone, regardless of ZIP code. So what does that mean in practice? Let’s dive into our vision.
Why Maine? The Data Tells a Compelling Story
TheraMotive began in New York City with a bold, clear mission: to deliver high-quality physical therapy directly to patients’ doors especially for those who face mobility challenges, limited local clinics, or transportation barriers.
Our AI-enabled mobile clinics, equipped with VR and wearable technology, now serve seniors, post-operative patients, and underserved communities across the city’s diverse neighborhoods. We are ready to bring this same tech-forward care model to Maine.
With support from the Roux Institute, TheraMotive is one of only ten startups selected for its Future of Healthcare Founder Residency, embedding us in Maine’s health-innovation ecosystem and connecting us with clinical, academic, and industry leaders.
Closing the Care Gap for Maine’s Seniors
Why choose Maine? The state has the highest proportion of residents aged 65 and older in the U.S. 22.5 percent as of 2022.
Many rural seniors still lack reliable access to rehabilitation and physical therapy. TheraMotive’s mobile model closes this gap by bringing licensed therapists, digital diagnostics, and real-time progress tracking directly to patients.
Partnering with Northern Light Health, MaineHealth, and the Roux Institute, we’re proving that ZIP code should never determine quality of care and that physical therapy in Maine can be both innovative and equitable.
The Roux Institute Partnership: More Than Just Capital
